"HAZARD"
"Things spread randomly, the most beautiful order,
the order of the world"— Héraclite d'Éphèse (vers -500)
Project "Dessine un meuble & habite", ESAG Penninghen, Paris, France.
Task: To create a residence/house (max 120 m2) with a furniture
as the starting point & source of inspiration.
House "Hazard" is 114 m2 in concrete and is a continuation of project
“House Z” where the inner structure was inspired by the angles
of "La Table de Chevet Z contemporaine"- Table Z.
The facades and the interior space of House "Hazard" are the result
of a new approach...
The chair Zig-Zag by Gerrit Thomas Rieveld was chosen as a starting point
as it reminds of the “Table Z” but has some different angles. The idea
of “hazard” was to create several smaller mock-up models of the Zig-Zag
chair, collect them and then from a hight of 15cm let the pieces fall by chance,
by hazard. A new design had been created! This new design, these new angles, have created a new structure and a new way of seeing the Zig-Zag chair.
Within this new design/structure, born by chance, a new foundation and starting point have been created for the now seen facades/windows and
interior space of House Hazard!
-The design, the space, the structure, the house… all created "by chance",
by "hazard"-

Late evening
When two lines meet,
An Angle's made,
Depending on direction...
Different values,
In degrees,
But all with some perfection...(-Mr. R’s world)
