"Lilla Bubbel - A moving chair"

Imagine being "indoors" with the sensation of being outdoors!

A short time project to interpret the concept of "a moving chair/seat"
("une chaise mouvante")
ESAG Penninghen, Paris, France.

Imagine sitting under the stars or being able to look up at the sky and watch
the snow fall over you without being cold but protected in your own little bubble, warm and safe! With “Lilla Bubbel” this is all possible!

When the sun is shining you can sit and read or just relax, protected from cold winds in your own "bubble", even when temperatures are low!

«Lilla Bubbel» can move from one place to another so you can choose your favorite view or spot. The right armrest has a simple control panel where you can move forward, backwards, right & left. It also controls the position of the seat/chair that can be repositioned upright or it can be leaned back for more comfort.
There are interior & exterior lights that can be switched on & off as desired.

Lilla Bubbel (Little Bubble)

At the Swedish ICEHOTEL situated in the village Jukkasjärvi, scooters & Lilla Bubbel can be offered to the clients who wish to experience the Nordic Light phenomena!

1) Lilla Bubbel is made of 15mmm PMMA (Plexiglas) and is produced in several pieces that are joint together with Aluminium Curved Profiles.
The door opens upwards. After it has been opened halfway it opens the rest of the way by itself through a 2) Glass to Glass mounting Magnetic self-close hinge- 90 degree opening.

3) The two wheels are connected with a 15cm wide aluminium «bridge» where the seat/chair & lights are attached & where the necessary electrical cables
are drawn & hidden. This part gives extra stability to Lilla Bubbel and this is where the breaks are hidden so Lilla Bubbel can stop at any time.
4) The controlpanel is placed in the right armrest. This is where all movements of the seat and all movements of Lilla bubbel are controlled. Lilla Bubbel can move up to 10km/h. The interior & exterior lights are also managed here.

Lilla Bubbel can only be moved forward when the chair is in its upright position!

(This is for safety reasons. Not only because one should not move Lilla Bubbel when the seat is leaned back due to a decreased vision but to be sure that it does not start to move by accident if Lilla Bubbel is placed on a slightly uneven ground or downhill. When one is relaxed and in a backright position one should feel safe and be sure that Lilla Bubbel does not move.)

The back part of the seat works both as a support and as the mechanism that allows the seat/chair to be easily slided up or down for the desired position.
7) The seat/chair hangs freely in the air through a metal structure that is attached to the aluminium »bridge» that connects the two wheels in the middle.
